Mine Blaster – Labourer in Western Australia, Australia

Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and preparing for blasting activities, under the guidance of experienced Mine Blasters.

Help in handling, transporting, and storing explosives and detonating equipment, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Work closely with the mining team to assist in designing blast patterns and sequences for effective rock fragmentation.

Conduct pre-blast checks UNDER supervision, ensuring the safety and readiness of the blast area.

Assist in monitoring blast-induced vibrations and air overpressure, following environmental guidelines.

Engage in regular safety meetings and training sessions to enable expertise in blasting operations and safety protocols.

Cooperate with the team at all times to ensure smooth and efficient mining operations.

Qualifications:

Experience or strong interest in the mining industry, particularly in blasting operations.

Basic understanding of safety regulations and best practices but will be trained in all aspects.

Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks in various environmental conditions

Accommodation is provided in well-equipped, comfortable camp facilities.

Health Insurance/care and work uniforms are also included in this work package. Plenty of work hours, with all meals and camp recreation facilities.

Work wear and full safety training were given.

English must be spoken, with proven previous work experience.

Consistently demonstrate and promote safety while working and on-site.

These jobs require you to work in very remote, very Hot/Dusty environments and far from the main cities. Sometimes, you'll be in camps with other employees isolated from the world in remote places.
